As the colder months finally start to die down, we can fathom seeing sunlight again with the onset of spring. With the temperature getting warmer and the snow finally melting, those of us who enjoy the outdoors have a lot to look forward to. If you’re someone that can’t get enough of being outside, you probably already have your favorite activity lined up for the first day it’s warm enough. We want to give you a few new outdoor hobbies to try in the spring, so you can get the most out of your time outside.
If you love the outdoors, but the cold isn’t your thing, you’ve probably spent a good portion of winter locked in your home. Get back into the swing of things by taking up marathon running. You don’t need to start with a true marathon, but training for and running a 5k run is a great way to get back into shape. On top of that, you can even run one for charity to do your part to help others.
For the more adventurous lot, paintballing is an activity that many people say they want to do, but never get around to. Spring is the perfect time to grab a mask and paintball gun and do some shooting. Paintballing is a great way to connect with other people and make new friends, and it is really good exercise.
If you’re trying to really get a rush while being outside, off-roading is one of the best adrenaline-pumping sports there is. You obviously need a car or truck that can handle it, which may require a few upgrades, but the payoff is completely worth the effort. Nothing beats swerving through a mud hole or traversing over some huge rocks on your way to see some incredible vistas.
Are you looking for a new outdoor hobby to try in the spring that’s a little more relaxed? Then you may enjoy longboarding. Longboarding is quite a bit different than skateboarding. It’s a lot more about taking things slow and taking in the sights around you—the perfect activity for a warm spring day.
It’s no secret how much we love mountain biking. Traversing over rough terrain and reaching your destination, wherever that may be, is a feeling that’s difficult to get anywhere else. All the effort that goes into mountain biking makes the end result all the more worth it. Whether you’re on a trail or off the beaten path, mountain biking could just be your new favorite thing to do outside.
