These boots are great for archery elk hunting because they have great insulation, 400 grams of Thinsulate insulation, to be exact! Not only that, but they provide support for your ankles which keeps things like debris away from your feet, allowing you to focus on hunting. These boots weigh 4.2 pounds, meaning they’re not the lightest, but they’re also not heavy. So, they are still suitable for hunting elk. If you take care of these boots properly, then their waterproof build and rubber sole guard should last for years! I’ve had mine for a while now and so far, so good. These shoes are so comfortable I wish I could wear them to the gym for my bodybuilding sessions!

The Kenetrek Mountain Extreme boots are available in 400g and 1,000g insulation weights. I advise the latter for late/cold season elk hunts. With its 10-inch-high ankle, this boot helps you power through the most difficult terrain whilst providing ample support. Elk hunting boots created by Kenetrek are popular among hunters because they are excellent.

LaCrosse’s Lodestar boots are generally comfortable as long as you break them in. My only issue with them is the ankle support, which I feel is lacking. For the money, you can’t go wrong with these 7-inch tall elk hunting boots. The comfort of the Eva Midsole is evident when you have a load of meat and horns on your back.

This lightweight boot has become a favorite for elk hunters. I like the soft, breathable textile lining, and once your feet are inside, the foot feels well supported. The molded OrthoLite insole provides decent cushioning but conforms to your foot. I would like to see Salomon offer the boot in a model with a slightly less aggressive tread.

These boots are ideal for both hiking and hunting. QUEST has an excellent grip and allows for a sure step, making it perfect for long expeditions in nature and harsh conditions. The improved chassis supports the joint and encloses the foot, providing extra stability without compromising freedom of movement on any surface. They’re made of high-quality full-grain leather for increased durability and wear. GORE-TEX keeps your feet dry, both from external influences and from moisture on the inside.
